 LOUISE HUTSON YOGA

Balance and Ease through Yoga

I find joy in sharing my love of yoga with others. I believe in the practice and it's power to heal and nurture. By linking movement with the breath and resting in stillness, space is created for inner connection and healing and a greater sense of ease and balance in one's body and mind.

ABOUT

I  started practicing yoga over 20 years ago . I had injured my back and was looking for ways to heal my body. Yoga was one of many therapies I explored and it gave me a tangible system by which I could feel stronger in my body and more calm in my mind.   The occasional yoga class here or there started turning into a class every day that eventually that lead to a 200hr RYT teacher training at Centered yoga, Thailand in 2004.

Yoga has kept me balanced through the changes and challenges of life. Shortly after having my first child I took a prenatal course with Mamaste Yoga in 2007. I was motivated to expand my training after my plans for a natural birth didn't go the way I imagined and my child was born by emergency c section. Through this learning process, I faced my trauma head on, developed a softer yoga practice, and had my second child 4 years later by VBAC.  As a parent my practice has been like an anchor , giving me space to unwind physically and emotionally and guiding me back to a place where I can find balance.

In 2018 I studied online with Ashley Turner, Yoga Psyche, Soul which has given me a deeper understanding of Yoga Psychology and a chance for me to gain more insight to who I am and how I show up in this world. Most recently I completed my 300hrs RYT in 2021 with Alanna Kaivalya, Kaivalya Yoga, furthering my studies of yoga mythology and philosophy.

As someone who has loved travel and adventure, the unending journey of yoga philosophy and self inquiry has kept me walking this path.  I feel that each time I come to my mat a small journey has taken place from the beginning of the practice to the end and I endeavor to hold space in my classes for everyone's own small adventure to unfold mindfully on their mat. Guiding them to follow their breath, move through poses in a way that is accessible for them and safe, and to leave a little more grounded, balanced and able to face the next step of their journey off the mat.

My intention is to make Yoga accessible to anyone who wants to try it, using clear language and offering modifications and alternatives for practicing safely with any 'body'. I encourage individuals to to listen to what their body is telling them and to move mindfully, without force, and to embrace and honor their unique yoga journey.

FEEDBACK

See What Others Have Shared

After class, I feel great; Louise’s authentic nature, patience and charisma transfers to every movement. She stays connected and guides her classes with empowering postures and composition.

The first thing that absolutely captivates my mind is Louise’s voice.  The sounds and the instructions she gives to me puts me into a trance. And as I follow her voice, I can feel the emotional stability just taking over with every downward dog.  It’s like she’s preparing me for a journey and pushing my body’s strength and flexibility but all the while keeping my core under control with her voice.  Yes, I can hear her tell me to even try new things and yes, my mind believes her so I know I can use the tools she gives to me and realign and rebalance for the forms she is demonstrating.  And after going through her session I feel this sense of aura. It’s like my own personal growth and accomplishment that I can go out into the world and conquer my biggest dreams with a healthy body, mind and spirit!

What I love about Louise's yoga classes are several things:

         1. Her voice is very calming and soothing ( the British accent helps!)

          2. She instinctively knows our class so well that she seems to be able to anticipate from our incoming conversations and moods as to what we need at the time we need it.

         3. I really enjoy her references to the yoga philosophy and what the Indian words stand for.

         4. I always feel physically more relaxed and calm when I am finished with your class

I love your classes!
You always seem so happy to see me!
Your voice is so calming.  You hold out the words, almost like song.
You offer things I don’t get from other teachers :  alternate nostril breathing, mula bandha…
I feel calmer after a class, and I believe that’s from the focus on the steady breathing.
I appreciate your insight into my individual needs — example:  I had such trouble with half moon pose, and you said, “You know, you can do that up next to the wall.”  Yay!  Now, I always do it that way!
